During the school holidays kids, can easily get bored, so here are 10 holiday activities for the kids and best of all they are all under $10!


1. Catch a film at Waverley Cinema

Waverley Cinema is a family run cinema in Pinewood Shopping complex that sells cinema tickets for between $6 and $10 (depending on the film and time). Booking is advised as the cinema can get busy during holiday periods.


2. Visit the Old Treasury Building

The Old Treasury Building hosts the original gold vaults where gold bullion was stored during the gold rush era. Admission is free.


3. Enjoy the NGV Kids Summer Festival

This summer the NGV International is hosting a Kids Summer Festival with 11 days of free artist-led workshops and performances for kids.


4. Make a Flip book

Kids can learn how to make a Flip Book and also about the early forms of animation with this free workshop at the ACMI.


5. Visit Collingwood Children's Farm

Just 5KM from the city, visitors can wander around, feed the animals, help with farm chores or just play with the animals. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children.


7. Watch an outdoor movie

Every Saturday in January, there is a free outdoor movie screening at Station Place in Werribee.


8. Join a Park Ranger

Explore some of Frankston's most popular natural attractions with a park ranger from Parks Victoria (bookings are essential). Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children.


9. Check out the Disney and Harry Potter Exhibition

Silver K Gallery has taken 18 months to curate and presents over 200 rare production cels and artwork from both Walt Disney Studios and the Harry Potter films/books. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children.


10. Go on a Silent Disco Tour

The silent disco tour, run by the Arts Centre, involves putting on headphones and dance walking your way around the arts precinct to hilarious commentary and upbeat disco hits! Tickets are $10
