Enjoy crossing the Nullarbor at a leisurely pace
Crossing the Nullarbor is definitely one of Australia's greatest road journeys. You may have flown between Perth and Adelaide, but have you ever thought about driving across from Perth to Adelaide or vice versa? Now, in my opinion, the best time to do so would be during the winter months when the temperature is usually more pleasant and the best way to do so would be at a leisurely pace while enjoying the journey itself.

Here are 10 highlights to consider along the way.

1. The Golden Pipeline - a 530-kilometre pipeline delivering fresh water from Perth to the Kalgoorlie region

2. The 90 Mile Straight - Australia's longest straight stretch of road along the Eyre Highway between Balladonia and Caiguna

3. The Big Kangaroo - standing proud right in front of the Border Village roadhouse

4. Head of Bight - to catch a glimpse of the Southern Right Whales (in season) and the awe-inspiring Bunda Cliffs

5. Penong Windmill Museum - showcasing a variety of windmills including Australia's biggest windmill

6. The Australian Farmer - a sculpture erected in Wudinna in recognition of farming communities in rural Australia

7. The Big Galah - standing proud along the main road in Kimba

8. The Halfway Across Australia Sign - marking a significant geographical location

9. The Kimba Silo Art - just breathtaking

10. The Sculptures of Edward John Eyre and Whylie - erected on Whites Knob Lookout in Kimba as a tribute to both these men
