We had a local favourite takeaway a few years ago that, unfortunately, went downhill when it was sold. The store became rundown and the food suffered as well. When I was walking past this store recently I noticed a major change.



Zest at Abbotsford is under new management and has had a fresh makeover. Word is getting around about this take away restaurant with food that's not your average take away.

How do sandwiches with pulled pork that has been smoked for 12 hours sound for $9.00? Or shaved rib eye steak with grilled onions and provolone cheese at $9.50? Oh, and the full flavoured free-range chargrilled chickens as well.

Zest uses free-range chickens from Bannockburn, the chargrill chook is tasty without being too oily or too dry. They actually taste like real chickens should taste.

Is your mouth watering yet? How about some Kale & Quinoa Salad with Roasted Beetroot, Feta and a Pomegranate molasses dressing? Honestly, I could go on about the food but you just need to get yourself to Great North Road at Abbotsford and try it for yourself.



Give yourself a break from cooking, go and say hi to Matt (a self-confessed foodie) and take in the smart timber and black decor along with the enticing smell of chargrill, as well as freshly prepared salads and sandwiches.

Oh, I almost forgot, ask Matt about his homemade American Chilli Cheese Fries at only $7.50.
