Fine Italian Dining in Bangkok
In the business district of Silom and tucked away from the main street is this white linen dining experience which is a cut above most Italian places you might find in Thailand.

We were welcomed into a refined environment with a well-stocked bar and had just enough time to admire the wine.

Attentive waiting staff guided us to our table where we were offered water and decided to treat ourselves to a glass of Prosecco while perusing the extensive and mouth-watering menu.

We were given a small plate of crunchy fried onions which kept our hunger at bay as we salivated at the thought of the treats ahead of us. After ordering we had the unusual Asian treat of a rather good bread basket and a selection of amuse bouche, including some divine pate. These little touches were what took our dinner up to the next level for me and really made the cost seem much more reasonable.

Our starter was a shrimp salad that was as delicious as it looks.

Sophie was delighted to have square plates.

The main courses, a spinach ravioli and tagliatelle with lobster sauce and thyme were scrumptious and perfectly cooked.

After declining dessert we were still served a plate of chiacchiere, a floury, crispy snack covered in icing sugar. It wasn't amazing but gave us a sweet end to the meal to help our digestion..

All in all we had a great time at Zanotti, enjoying a carafe of decent wine which we weren't allowed to pour ourselves and the sort of service that isn't normal in Thailand or Asia in general.
