has had a makeover and the new play space is awesome. My favourite thing about it was all of the natural shade. Sure, shade sails are great - but there's something better about big, old trees providing cover.

There are your old favourites like the swings at the play space but also some different equipment to challenge your kids' imaginations and physical skills. The musical pieces including drums and this wooden xylophone were a hit with my kids, too.

The main feature of the play space is a big wooden fort. It's built around the trees so it's all well shaded and is a great spot for the kids to run around playing pirates. And there are different features for different skill levels including this rock climbing wall on one side.

There's a lot of wood incorporated into the design of the play space including park benches (but you'll probably be following your kids around everywhere and not have much time to sit) and decorations like this little guy.

When you plan your visit to , bring the snags too and take advantage of the BBQ facilities. Once you're cooked, you can decide whether to sit inside the fenced play space or find a big, shady tree outside.

You'll find on Wordsworth Avenue. And you'll find everything you need:

Toilets - Check.
Plenty of parking - Check.
A fence - Check.
