Whether you want a romantic rendezvous or fun with the family, Yatala Twin Drive-In Theatre is the place to be. Its two huge screens measure 110ft x 44ft and they offer a unique viewing experience of the latest Hollywood block-busters in true drive-in fashion.

To enjoy the movie experience form the comfort of your own car, you can tune in the radio to one of two stations, or if it’s a balmy night and the mood inspires it, turn on the out-door 1950’s speakers, pull out a picnic blanket and experience cinema under the stars.

There is no dress code and outfit’s range from tiny tots in their PJ’s and fluffy slippers, to couples dressed to impress. There is also a candy bar for all the sweet toothed; but the convenience of having your car means you can bring your own picnic, complete with deck-chairs, cushions and (for the well–prepared) fly spray.

The most popular tickets are for double-features, which are a real bargain, especially if you make use of the current $25 per car offer (conditions apply).

So whether you are wooing a potential mate, or trying to keep the entire family (including grandma) happy, why not take a page out of Danny Zuko’s book and drive in to the drive-in in your own Greased Lightning.

That would be so fun going there. I never knew that there were drive through movies in Queensland, or Australia for that matter. I would love to go there in my pjs and get some yummy things to eat and just pig out while I watch under the moonlight. It would be very romantic to go with a loved one and also the prices are very good considering the atmosphere, hope they do not go up. The mosquitoes would be very annoying though and I have the issue of getting bitten all the time because my skin seems to attract them because it is pale and they can probably smell the blood in my veins. But this is surely somewhere I will have to visit.

Glad to introduce it to you. It's great fun. Go in winter; you can bring a blanket, hot chocolate and avoid the mozzies :)
