When you venture into Kings Cross for a night out, you know you're in for a big one.
World Bar can easily help things along with its quirky decor, banging music and cocktails served in teapots.
Make sure you get there early if you want a seat outside on the deck as these seats fill up fast. It can get pretty crowded outside until they open up the back but upstairs is always an option. There are some great nooks and crannies with comfy seats and the bars are usually less crowded than ground level.
Each night
World Bar has a different event: look under the 'nights' tab of their
website to check them all out. The stairs to the upper levels are hard on those heels. I know you won't pack sensible shoes but you have been warned.
The famous teapots are clearly the highlight of the night. You can choose from a long list of options, but if you want to hit hard, the 'Long Island Ice Tea' is the way to go. Back in the day you could drink straight from the spout, but in more recent times this has been banned and you need to use the plastic shot glasses that they supply you with. I don't even want to think about why they banned spout drinking but whose complaining..?
Well broke students apparently, because the teapots start at $17 however fear not, I have the answer in the form of a little black book; pokitpals, students should get on these! Pokitpals entitle students to discounts not only on teapots at
World Bar but all over Sydney, but beware the bar staff have eagle eyes so sharing pokitpals is tricky business. You can check them out
here and even print out a coupon for a free one
here. There is even a printable coupon for free entry to
World Bar.
