How does your period tell you more about your body?
If you're anything like me, you're getting a little over the constant new 'it' diet, the over-representation of 'perfect bodies' on social media and the societal pressure of having all your ducks in a well-ordered row. I think all of these things give us something. Probably anxiety. Or maybe self-esteem issues. On the contrary, (or maybe even more importantly), what I think it should give us is the desire to actually find what works for us. To break away from the norm, do our own thing and do what feels right for us. What if we took a step back? Ignored what we 'should' do and listen to our own body – and what our own body needs us to do. In this crazy hectic world we live in, it's about time we all took some time out for ourselves. And I think a little introduction into the world of Natural Therapies is just the ticket.
This coming Sunday the 23rd of April, come along to the West End Natural Therapies Centre for a 90-minute workshop discussing how Chinese Medicine can help alleviate some of the health concerns many women face. You will have the chance to discover how acupuncture & Chinese herbs can help you in your daily life, no matter what stage of life you may be at. Facilitated by Sally Taylor (BHSc – Acupuncture), the main topics covered will be menstruation (including pain, irregularities and PMS), menopause, pregnancy, fertility and much more. The focus of the afternoon is the menstrual cycle and Sally will delve into how our monthly (or maybe not so monthly for some) visitors can tell a lot about our internal health.
The afternoon commences at 1pm in the Workshop Room at the Therapies Centre. There is no cost for the class, however, a gold coin donation is of course very welcomed. To refuel your body whilst expanding your mind, there will be light refreshments available on the day and one lovely lady (or gent) will even get to take home a lucky door prize.
What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon, taking some time out for you and learning a bit more about the complexities of all things women's health. If you'd like to come along, confirm your attendance by calling (07) 3040 2310 or simply RSVP via their Facebook event page by clicking here.
