Women of Letters Literary Events

There are two things I've always done to the point of obsession; one is dressing up, the other is writing letters. So a year ago when I heard about an event dedicated to the art of writing letters I had to check it out. Since that first time when I cried, laughed and swore all while sipping at champagne. I have never looked back.
The Women of Letters event is held on the last Sunday of every month and is the perfect combination of inspiration and comedy, where 5 writers from different backgrounds, ranging from pop star to comedian to politician to fiction writer to poet, read out a letter penned to the topic of the month.
Midway through the event after you've laughed and cried your make-up off, you are given the chance to write your own letter - the curators Marieke Hardy and Michaela McGuire even provide you with stamps.
That's right free stamps!! I can't recommend this event enough, its like a once a month $15 therapy session where women you see on television, listen to on the radio or have written books you read, speak so frankly, honestly and unashamedly.
Not only is it wonderful entertainment, the proceeds all go to
The Edgars Mission a discarded and downtrodden farm animal sanctuary. Letter writing, helping animals, drinking on a Sunday and cheap entertainment, there is no beating that combo!
