Located near the pedestrian crossing on the Main Road in Blackwood, adjacent to the Foodland carpark, local artist, Wolfgang (Wolf) Karschiimkus sells from a display his various Christmas cards, artworks, jigsaws, wooden puzzles, coffee cups, mini iPad covers, iPhone covers, USBs, pens and more.
All these items stem from and feature in one way or another, his original paintings, which he paints in acrylic on canvas. His bold bright coloured images are scanned and printed as Christmas cards and onto a variety of items.
Every year in the weeks leading up to Christmas, he can be seen with his display of Christmas wares. You can learn more about Wolf by clicking

Wolf, as he prefers to be called, is a local identity in the Blackwood area. Some people know him as "The Card Man", with his own range of Christmas greeting cards. Others know him as the artist, who at 52 years suffered a major stroke in 2006. As part of his intensive rehabilitation program he began painting on canvas. Despite intensive physio and daily massaging from his wife Meri, the use of his right side has not returned in any form.
"But that is okay," says Meri, "because Wolf has learnt to live life to its fullest using the other side of his body. With continuing art tuition from Di Rawnsley, his painting has improved with his fine detail, as his left hand is much steadier now."
Wolf said, "I am able to talk to people a lot more now. I am finding my speech is improving so I am able to chat with people and answer their questions, as well as handle money."
Nowadays, Wolf does not have the pressure of a stressful job. He works at his rehab, program and he works hard at his painting.
Said Meri, "For some people, and Wolf was one, he allowed his work as an accountant in the business world, to become a huge part of his life. Since he suffered with his stroke, we believe we are enjoying our lives together and appreciating our family and one another more. I really do think we are happier people. It may seem strange to some people, but we refer to it as 'a stroke of luck."
Wolf's range of Christmas items can be purchased from him at his display or by contacting either Meri or Wolf at home : 8370 2894 or on mobile 0411 367 276 or email:
