If you're heading to Euston station to catch an early morning train, or arrive in the capital at the end of a long rail journey, you'll probably be wanting a coffee.

If, however, you prefer somewhere with a bit more character, then step outside the station, cross over Euston Road and into Tavistock Square.
Keep your eyes peeled as you walk along Tavistock Square and very quickly you'll see Woburn Walk just off to your left, a small but quaint pedestrianised passageway.
It's the perfect escape from Euston, or from any busy part of the capital for that matter.
The charming street comprises a number of pretty bow-fronted buildings, built by architect Thomas Cubitt nearly 200 years ago. Famous past residents include the Irish poet and dramatist WB Yeats, who lived on Woburn Walk from 1895 until 1919.
You'll find several independently run cafes along the walk (Chives, Wot the Dickens, and Sorrento), all selling food at reasonable prices. All-day breakfasts are available!
Each offers outdoor seating, making it the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or a quick drink. If you want something to read with your snack, grab a newspaper from the paper shop on Woburn Walk.
There are other businesses along the walk too, including a shop selling antiques, a hair salon, a book shop and an Indian restaurant.
Woburn Walk goes unnoticed by most people as they march at speed along Tavistock Square on their way to or from Euston station. Be sure to notice it. You'll be glad you did.
