The increasingly popular annual event of
Wittunga Under the Stars musical event is being organised by the
Lions Club of Blackwood Inc. Once, again it will be held in the
Wittunga Botanical Gardens, Shepherds Hill Road, Eden Hills on
1st March, 2013.

Wittunga Botanical Gardens make ideal picnic & concert space.
This community event of musical performances under the stars in a picnic environment has been held annually since 2003.
Last year, over one thousand people enjoyed this community event, which raised funds for the
The Blackwood After Hours Clinic.

In 2012 the New Orleans Ramblers brought their music to the people.
The Blackwood Lions are planning another spectacular program again with the background of lawns, trees and lake. The proceeds of the evening will go to the
Lions Hearing Dogs for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired.
There will be a broad variety of quality music from the following groups:
St John's Grammar School Bandwill perform with a saxophone ensemble, run by
Beth Lyon of E. Type Jazz. This is a requested appearance after last year's excellent performances.

Bearded Gypsy Band: They describe their music as "an infusion of Gypsy, Jazz, Blues and Folk music.Their gypsy-inspired music and performances has received rave reviews nationally. Selected as one of
Rip It Up's Hot six bands for 2012. During the past year they performed at festivals including
WOMADelaide National Folk Festival, Melbourne's Harvest festival, Illawarra Folk Festival and many more.

Zen Knights:Renowned Adelaide Muso's put together especially for this event playing their own brand of roaring 1920's jazz. They play regularly at local gigs at the Southern Jazz Club and the House of Zen Restaurant at Belair.

Bec is rated amongst Adelaide's leading jazz vocalists with "a serious jazz voice." Back again by public demand with a band of fantastic musicians. Bec will also be accompanied by the Shoo Shoo Mammas to perform a collection of
Andrew Sisters' songs. Over the last three years the group performed to sold out concerts and received rave reviews.

What makes
Wittunga Under the Stars a unique concert experience is the relaxed family environment where you are able to make yourself comfortable on a rug, cushion or fold-away chair, with your picnic basket and a limited BYO has been obtained for the evening.
Food will also be available from the
Lions BBQ with salad, as well as drinks, ice cream, coffee from the
Coffee King, French style
pancakes by Zavier and
scrumptious desserts from the St. John's Jazz Group stall.
Free face painting for the children.
Ample car parking is available at the adjacent Blackwood Primary School.
Ticklets:are available on the night at the gate. However, booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
