Set in the Gold Coast hinterlands, this location is sure to please everyone; cheese, a restaurant and a mircro-brewery all in the one place.
The
Witches Chase Cheese Company (
165-185 Long Road, Tamborine Mountain) was founded in 2004 by a couple with a passion to produce good cheese to accompany a good wine. The company was named after the
Witches Falls National Park, which was the first national park in Queensland.
The factory is located amongst tropical rainforest in Tamborine Mountain. The cheeses are made onsite using traditional methods and vegetarian rennet, and are preservative free.
Visitors to the store can browse cheese making equipment and enjoy samples of the dozen varieties of hard and soft cheeses. And with recipes and flavours constantly changing, there's always something new to try. Be sure to give the Tamembert, the Witches Chase patented variety of camembert, a try.
The owners also offer cheese making courses for anyone who shares the passion. The course is run by a qualified cheese maker and teaches the basics of cheese making using household equipment. This course is recommended for beginners, as no prior knowledge is assumed.
The Witches Chase Cheese Company is located in the same building as MT Tamborine Brewery and Liquid Amber Bistro and Grill, making the location suitable for a day trip. It is open from 10.00am until 5.00pm, seven days a week.
