Truly an event for the whole family, the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park is certain to bring lots of festive cheer to the capital over the coming seven weeks.

Quite possibly the biggest event of its kind in the country, the Winter Wonderland features funfair rides, gift stalls, Santa's Grotto, the capital's biggest outdoor skating rink, an enormous Ferris wheel (with heated pods!) and Zippos Circus!

For some original ideas regarding Christmas presents, check out the traditional German market with all manner of knick-knacks on sale. If you're feeling a tad peckish, be sure to try out a tasty German bratwurst sausage, and how about washing it down with some deliciously spicy mulled wine.

A new addition to the Winter Wonderland this year is the Angel's Christmas market, giving you even more shopping options, with more than 100 stalls tempting you with unique arty gift ideas, alongside gourmet gifts.

For those who like a view, the 200-feet high Ferris wheel should keep you happy with spectacular vistas across Hyde Park and beyond. Each pod is big enough for six people and one rotation of the wheel takes about 13 minutes, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the Wonderland.

Zippos Christmas Circus will be a surefire hit with kids and adults alike, with several shows throughout the day, while evening entertainment comes from Cirque D'Hiver, a troop made up of performers from around the world, including top class acrobats, contortionists and aerialists. A Wheel of Death also features.

You can enter the grounds of the Wonderland and enjoy the atmosphere for free, though advance tickets are available for attractions such as the Ferris wheel, skating rink and Zippos Circus. Click here for detailed ticket information.

The Wonderland is open every day from 10am until 10pm.
