Sydney's North Shore will come alive in September with the annual Willoughby Spring Festival. It is one of the largestest cultural and entertainment celebration on Sydney's North Shore.

The month long festival, held annually in September, features visual arts exhibitions, live entertainment, film and music performances, kids and youth events, cultural and community celebrations and more.

The highlight of the event will definitely be the Willoughby StreetFair, it is North Shore's biggest street party, where you can watch the colourful street parade, browse through a variety of market stalls and enjoy entertainment throughout the day.

The StreetFair will take over Chatswood CBD malls on Saturday 5 September 2015 from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

There will be more than 1,000 community members showcasing dynamic colours, striking cultural costumes and entertainment on foot or on floats, marching to the beat of drums and brass bands, or dancing and performing their way through the streets of the Chatswood CBD.

The famed StreetFair Parade will start 10:30am from Endeavour Street, passing through Victoria Avenue to Neridah Street.

The StreetFair attracted over 100,000 visitors in 2014. The early spring weather presented some light rain last year, however it did not dampened the fun festive spirit.

Popular superhero, Batman, made a special appearance with his ultra-cool batmobile into Chatswood. Adults and kids were excited to meet the Dark Knight. Even the villain, Penguin, got his fair share of attention.

Between the Fire Brigade Trucks, Batman in person and various of parade entertainments, I was excited to join the fun and some photo opportunities.

If you think the outdoor festival is a bit rowdy and crowded for your liking, head down to the Concert Room in the Concourse Civic Centre for some award-winning orchid displays. Here you will find serenity and elegance with full blooming orchids. The North Shore Orchid Society Spring Show is a free event for everyone.

There were more than 100 orchid varieties exhibited last year, including the Grand Champion Orchid prize. The orchid market stall was popular with all the spectacular orchid plants for sale. The friendly members of the North Shore Orchid Society were there to answer any questions and to provide expert advice about growing orchids at home.

After all these excitements, it was natural we felt peckish and wandered down Victoria Avenue for a great variety of delicious street-food. We noticed many familiar regular food stall vendors from the Thursday Night Melody Market and the food choice was endless.

We got a Phat Belly Roll ($8) which was a Vietnamese-style chargrilled BBQ roll filled with carrot, cucumber, liver pâté, shallots, coriander and BBQ sauce. It was utterly delicious. The hot steamy Korean seafood oden soup ($2.50) was a bargain and it was a typical Korean street-food. Finally, we got some insanely-popular chocolate cronuts to satisfy our sweet-tooth craving.

The 2015's StreetFair is sure to please. There will be plenty of entertainment and activities for the children, mouth-watering cuisine and educational sustainability lane.

It will be a great day out for the whole family!
