The streets of Chatswood CBD will come alive and be transformed into a festival wonderland with the popular Willoughby StreetFair and parade, from 10am to 4pm, on Saturday, the 11th of September 2010. The Street Fair is part of the Spring festival organized by Willoughby Council and it is the best way to bid goodbye to the cold winter days and welcome the warmer summer days.

The Willoughby Spring Festival is a series of events celebrating the arts, culture, business and environment in the Willoughby Council Area. The festival has been running for the past 14 years and is an event that is eagerly awaited for.

On the day of the street fair, the roads around the CBD are completely transformed into a sea of vibrant colours and becomes a pedestrian only area. The fair always begins with a parade of the performers which is nearly 1000 member strong. There will be various stages set up for the performing artists including the fantastic Big Band stage and the Youth stage.

Some of the popular events from previous years will be back like the annual Barista Coffee competition on Spring Street, the Orchid Show in Westfield and the open houses during the Spring festival.

The council is promoting sustainable methods of living and the Sustainability Street stalls will showcase living ideas that help protect our local environment and combat climate change. Visit this street to learn how to be climate clever and adopt eco-friendly methods.

The Willoughby Spring festival aims to involve the entire community by providing a diverse range of events that attract people of all ages. There is something for everyone: cuisine from around the world, gift ideas, jewellery, fashion, homewares, arts and crafts and community information stalls.

Kidzone on Anderson street will be the center of attraction for all the children with a band playing for kids, the reptile galore, circus works playground and more.

To enjoy the festival, rub some sun screen , leave your car at home and the take a walk, train or bike to the festival. Do remember to bring your own water bottles and reusable bags.
