Whisper Wine Bar is a relatively new place tucked away in the heart of Fremantle. Small, secluded and cosy, it's a great place to meet friends for a drink after work or before, or after, a movie. The atmosphere is sophisticated and very European, reminiscent of the French Riviera. It has to be one of Freo's best kept secrets.
The owners of the Whisper Wine Bar are very friendly and welcoming. Helene and Thierry are both originally from Paris and really know their stuff. They have worked passionately to recreate an authentic wine bar experience in these historic premises. The décor is warm with original wood floors and limestone walls, the bar seating downstairs is casual and the outdoor seating is ideal on a warm, balmy evening. There is more cosy seating upstairs, and the balcony has a great view of the Essex Street nightlife. The upstairs area is available for private functions; this is a unique venue to make your next special occasion a big hit.
The Whisper Wine Bar has a superb cellar offering some very lovely and reasonably priced Australian wines as well as imported wines from France. Serving a great selection of wines by the glass, they also have beer, spirits and soft drinks available.
The menu at the Whisper Wine Bar is simple and offers mainly finger food style cuisine to accompany your wine or to have as a snack or appetiser; try the delicious Fresh French Baguette with pate or the meat and cheese platter to share. The smell of the freshly baked bread wafting from the kitchen will get your taste buds going and your mouth will be watering in no time. The staff are warm and helpful and the service is great.
