Going out for brunch has long been a popular past time for Sydneysiders. There's nothing better than catching up with friends or family on a Saturday or Sunday morning over some coffee and a delicious breakfast. Whether it be pancakes you're after or a big Australian breakfast complete with sausages and bacon, you're bound to find it in one of Sydney's many cafes.

Pancakes with Strawberries and Ricotta from Burnt Orange, Mosman

There are so many places across Sydney that offer brunch every weekend and I'm always wondering where is the best place to get breakfast in Sydney.

Some high contenders I've been to recently include Burnt Orange in Mosman, Wild Sage in Cammaray, Ripples in Chowder Bay and Milson's Point and Fifi Foveaux's in Surry Hills.

Where are your favourite places to eat brunch or breakfast in Sydney and why? And what's the best dish your favourite place has to offer?

Definitely Rosie's Cafe in Galston. They do the best Eggs Benedict, fresh crusty bread, perfectly poached eggs and best of all, plenty of hollandaise sauce, mmm, yum. They also have soft blankets over the chairs for you to use if it gets a bit chilly. Very friendly and thoughtful service.

Cherubini Espresso Bar in Darlinghurst. Literally not much more than a hole in the wall but definitely worth a visit. The coffee beans are roasted in-house & you will smell the place long before it comes into view! I recommend the Big Breakfast which comes with the lot (the bacon can be substituted for a vego option) & Eggs Benedict (available with ham or smoked salmon) which sits on the most divine organic sourdough, there are many other all-day choices. Super friendly front-of-house, you will not be disappointed :)

Post Cafe, Marrickville.
The Turkish breakfast has scrambled eggs mixed with sujuk (spicy Turkish sausage) and it's amazing. Reasonably priced too (about $12 for the Turkish breakkie which also comes with a huge potato cake, toast and spicy salsa). Can't beat it.

A little cafe on Campbell Parade at Bond Beach. Trio. Their food is delicious. The service is excellent. And the tables have white linen table cloths.

- Back 2 Basics -

The best Bacon & Egg Roll I have tastes in my 26 years on this Earth is located on the South end of King St, just 40m past the Botany View Hotel.

Coffee Bean On King - is our greatest new hangout for Bacon & Egg Rolls, and at $5 a piece you couldn't go past without grabbing one.

Personally, I forget the name of the cafe. However, I can tell you the location. Upstairs at Moore Park SupaCentre, it's an Italian (I think) cafe which serves breakfast all day. I usually order a coffee and eggs benedict with ham. I get avocado on the side as an extra. I don't know what they do to their hollondaise sauce but oh my, is it amazing. It melts in your mouth. The eggs are amazing too. Steer clear if you're trying to diet. This cafe is on the same level as JB hifi, opposite Howard's Storage world or something from memory.
