I am always looking out for new experiences, wherever I may find myself.

In the north of Brisbane, at Cabolture, the Abbey Medieval Festival takes place every year over two days. It covers so many different elements of the medieval world; jousting, clothes, archery, food, living conditions, even activities like Turkish oil wrestling.
I feel like the festival has to be the best way to experience medieval culture in the entire city. But I have to admit, I don't know about any other experiences, if there in fact are any alternatives.
Do you think the festival is the best medieval experience Brisbane has to offer? Or are there other events I haven't considered? Perhaps you've enjoyed being part of a reenactment group like the ones that appear at the Abbey Medieval Festival. How did this go? Which would you recommend?
