Central Park remains one of the most popular places to wander during good weather. The park offers a variety of activities for all seasons. The summer in particular offers residents of New York tons of things to do whether they are single, couples, seniors or families.

Boating

Rent a paddleboat (at $12 per hour and $2.50 per additional 15 minutes) and enjoy the sights of Central Park. If you want someone else to do the work, take a Ventian gondola ride for $30 per half hour.

Stroll

There are many places to visit within Central Park. First, try the Conservatory Garden. This garden offers free tours at 11am each Saturday. There are always people having wedding pictures or other photo shoots going on in the area, but be ready for crowds. The garden is located on the east side of the Park from 104th to 106th streets. Fifth Avenue and 105th street is the best place to enter.

For someone more interested in pop culture, visit Strawberry Fields. The area is a designated quiet zone (west side of park between 71st and 74th streets). This stretch of the park is notorious for John Lennon's murder. An Imagine mosiac is placed on the 2 acre span of land in the park.

If you have kids, visit the Alice In Wonderland statue. After walking around the park for awhile, the kids may be ready to be a little rowdy. The kids are allowed to climb on this statue showcasing one of Lewis Carroll's most popular characters. Find this statue nearly on 75th Street.

Visit The Zoo

The Central Park Zoo is a great place to visit during the summer. The zoo is located on the east side of the park near 63rd to 66th Streets. The zoo is open each day from 10 am to 5:30 pm and costs $12 for adults, $9 for seniors, $7 for kids, and free for kids under 3.

Horseback Riding

Take a ride in the park on your favorite house or even ride a pony. For kids, this is an exciting adventure and rides are only $2.50 per ride. The midpark is located nearly on 64th street.
