With summer just around the corner, we're starting to see more and more days boasting what I like to call "perfect beer-drinking weather". You know the sort of days I mean - you've swapped your winter woollies for boardies and a t-shirt, the sky is ridiculously blue and you can almost smell a hint of summer in the air.

1
Thirsty?

With Daylight Saving kicking in, it gets harder and harder to wait around for 5pm so you can finish work and knock back a cold beverage or two. After all, a hard-earned thirst does need a big cold beer, but the identity of the best cold beer is up for debate.

What do you think is the best Australian beer?

2
What's your favourite home-grown brew?

Yes, I know the Germans know a thing or two about brewing, but I want to know what your favourite home-grown drop is. And yep, I also know plenty of the so-called "Aussie" beers are now owned by big foreign companies, but forget about that for the moment.

Are you a James Squire fan or do you prefer the work of James Boag? Would you rather toast the summer with a Coopers green or a Cascade?

Maybe you're a fan of one of the many great Western Australian breweries, such as Little Creatures or Matilda Bay? Or is it Redoak or Grand Ridge Brewery that makes your beer of choice?

Whatever the case may be, I want to hear what's in your Esky. What is the best Australian beer?

Mountain goat (strong, brown, malty, complex) is my husband Paul's favourite. Mine is Rogers (not as heavy, spicy, fragrant, full of flavour). Great beers.

My husband likes My Wife's Bitter (Burleigh Brewing Co.) but I think it has more to do with the name than the drink.
His new favourite is Beez Neez (Matilda Bay).
