Feel like leaving the hustle and bustle of the main streets of Werribee? Want to get away but don't feel like driving far?
Pack up the family and some snacks and head for the well-kept secret that is .
Just a short 11km drive from Werribee town centre and a lovely drive through the well-kept farming district.
As you drive around the bay you may wonder why you haven't heard of this place before. The bay stretching out before you, the horizon a view to behold. If you are lucky enough to be there at sunset then that is even better as it's gorgeous.
Parking is easy to find in one of the many car parks provided. A short stroll across the well-kept lawn and you will be on the beach. The little ones will be happy building those magnificent sand creations while you kick back and relax with a good book. Or possibly kick a ball around?
None of these sounding good? That's ok, you can always sit back and watch the many boats, yachts or windsurfers who launch from the boat ramps and jetties. If you are lucky enough to own one, maybe you can go out on the water yourself and try to catch the big one.
Whichever activity you pick, is definitely worth at least one trip. The relaxing atmosphere and ample space is great for a day out.
This hidden gem is less crowded than beaches such as Altona. Giving the children plenty of room to run and play without knocking over other peoples umbrella's and drink containers.
So pop on down and bring the family for a fun day out. Don't forget the hats and sunscreen and do remember to pack a warm jacket in the car in case that cold Melbourne wind catches you out.
I love this place and can often be found down there with my camera snapping photo's. If you see me, do say hi.
