Family fun at twilight markets
Wellington Point Twilight Markets, as a rule, are held on the first Saturday of each month.
The markets commence at 4pm and run through to 8pm at the Village Green on Main Road, Wellington Point. For those familiar with this area, the ever popular Tanja's Cafe is your landmark.
These are family orientated markets with fresh fruit and vegies as well as multiple stalls with hand crafted products that you simply wouldn't find at the local shopping centre.
I was particularly taken by a display of handmade crystal and gemstone bracelets. With Christmas looming, gifts of a different nature that are both functional and easy to post, always catch my eye. Maree's wares can be viewed here.
I ambled around the 30 odd stalls in early September and enjoyed the community ambiance, as well as the selection of surrounding eateries. Many families were out walking, having a browse, and enjoying an ice cream on their travels home.
The grapevine has it that there is a new, enthusiastic manager on board with these Twilight Markets.
Evidence of this is a Halloween Twilight Market to be held on Saturday the 31st October.
On this evening there will be a Halloween Costume Competition with prizes for best dressed adult, child, family, stall and business. To be considered for this event you must be present between 4pm to 6 pm, to be selected for the final at 7pm.
The grapevine also has it that there will be Trick and Treating at participating shops and stalls.
Entry is FREE. Ice creams are optional. A good time is compulsory.
