Weekend Escape to Tweed Heads

If you're looking for some quality time with your family or an escape from the rush of everyday life, Tweed Heads is perfect for you. Having recently returned from a weekend getaway with my family, I can safely say that the experience was extremely rejuvenating.

The area is fairly laid back and the beaches are far from crowded - the perfect environment for some quiet time. We started our journey early in the morning from Brisbane allowing us enough time to arrive for a picnic on a cliff. The views were absolutely breathtaking.




If packing a picnic does not seem convenient to you, there are numerous cafes located in the area as well. I would highly recommend checking out Cafe dBar . We stopped by for some breakfast before heading back to Brisbane, and the service and quality of food were exceptional (the panoramic view of the ocean probably helped as well).


There are numerous activities that can be done during your stay at Tweed Heads. From fishing, surfing, soaking up the sun by the beach, visiting the lighthouse, exploring cafes and family picnics. If you are travelling with kids, you could consider the Theme Parks located at the Gold Coast as a day trip. It is about a 30-40 minute drive between the areas but i am certain the kids will not be disappointed.
