In
War Horse a young man, Albert, enlists in World War 1 after his beloved horse Joey gets sold to the Calvary. Albert journeys throughout Europe in hopes that one day he'd find Joey. It's an very emotional journey full of hope and great loss for both human and animals.
Steven Spielberg's newest war drama is filled with tears, laugher, some more tears and a little heart break but my god are those horses beautiful.
However, as great as I think this movie was, it was at times corny and filled with cliches. There are also great moments between Albert and Joey as well as moments where you'd like to punch whoever wrote the script with its cruelty towards the horses.
Another thing that Spielberg's done here is the use of not very big names throughout the film. Which was very helpful in that we could keep all our attention upon Joey. Which I found very helpful and enticing.
I highly recommend this film if not in the movies but definitely on DVD once it comes out.
