Kangaroos
Kangaroos at Connect with Nature

Seen any Spotted Quolls lately?

They're native to South East Queensland and are very rare, and you can see them at Walkabout Creek, only 15 minutes drive west from Brisbane's city centre. Every Saturday and Sunday at 1.30pm, they run a family friendly program, "Connect with Nature".

My kids loved patting kangaroos, watching platypus being fed, seeing possums, wombats, venomous snakes and of course the rare spotted quolls at the South East Queensland Wildlife Centre at Walkabout Creek.

After all that excitement we needed afternoon tea at Green Tree Frog Cafe, which has a cool, spacious verandah overlooking Brisbane Forest Park.

As the track begins at Walkabout Creek, we also took the kids for a bushwalk around Enoggerra Reservoir. The track passes Bunya Pines and provided the perfect opportunity to see ducks and their ducklings paddling among the water lilies.
