You be the judge
QUICK - say the first word that comes into your mind when you hear the word - Swan Valley Wines - that's right - Verdelho!
Viva Verdelho is a taste off of the valley's best Verdelhos with recipes from leading Swan Valley chefs. The bursting aromatics, delicious freshness, and full flavour of Verdelho makes it the perfect lifestyle wine – eat, drink, share & enjoy.
2012 My Kitchen Rules contestants, Emma Donnelly and Andrew Paton, alongside well known food and wine identities Ray Jordan (wine writer The West Australia) and Jane Cornes (contributing food & wine editor Scoop) will judge the wines and how well they match three recipes devised by three local chefs.
Chefs Fiona Lamont (Lamonts), Anthony Broad (Broads @ Upper Reach) and Kiren Mainwaring (Dear Friends).
Faber Vineyard Studio
Viva Verdelho will be an outdoor celebration, where wine and food lovers will be served plates of the three different recipes and can mingle between tasting booths offering samples of all the wines in the competition. They can explore the exciting wine and food combinations Verdelho offers.
And whilst the experts are selecting the Critic's Choice Award, our wine and food lovers will be tasting the same wines and recipes and voting for the People's Choice Award.
The action takes place at the delightful outdoor setting of Faber Vineyard in the heart of the beautiful Swan Valley surrounded by vineyards and the hills.
Viva Verdelho takes place on Sunday 4th November from 12.30pm to 3.30pm at Faber Vineyard, 233 Haddrill Road Baskerville.
Tickets cost $70 and are available from Moshtix www.mostix.com.au and are also available for cash purchase from Olive Farm Winery and Upper Reach Winery.
What better way to spend a Spring day in the sunny Swan Valley!
