Every Thursday fortnight, the Deagon Community Arts Centre is host to the Vintage Soul Community Art group. This group, formed by Kylie Evans and Tamara Haddon, allows women of all ages and walks of life to come together to explore the art medium of their choice in a friendly and creative atmosphere.
Although only in the early stages of development, VSCAG shows a very promising potential to nurture the skills and talents of art and crafters in the Brisbane region. Aspiring to hire gallery space in February of next year to exhibit and sell their work, the group also showcase their talents on Facebook.
Open to anyone who wants to join in and non-discriminatory on the type of art created, it is a small fee of $8 for workspace and supper, tea and coffee as well as BYO all materials. If you would like to just go along and watch other artists create something right in front of you, this is also encouraged.
The Vintage Soul Community Art group is a brilliant invention for artists, allowing them to develop their talents while finding inspiration off others as well as building a friendly, welcoming social network.
The night begins at 6:00pm and ends around 8:30pm.
