Grabbing my girlfriends for a night out in Sydney all seemed near impossible as far as logistics and girls can go in terms of where to meet and who is the designated driver…and with no volunteers a little blonde birdy came up with a great idea (which some would say rarely happens) to seek out accommodation at The Vibe Hotel in Rushcutters Bay.
So with our bags in tow with several outfits for the night to choose from we drove to The Vibe where we were greeted by the wonderful staff who could only assume by the amount of bags we had and the look of mischief on our faces that tonight was going to be the big girls' night out. And no not in the movie sense of 'The Hangover'.
The Executive Suite
Through the double doors and into the Execuitve Suite our adventure begins. Music on and a few glasses of wine, a few more dress changes (because heaven forbid my shoes don't match my handbag) we head off on a five minute walk to the bright city lights, so to speak, of Kings Cross.
First stop 'The Club' for a quick show of head at an event and a quick unexpected new hair-do we were off upstairs to one of my favourite bars 'Hugos Lounge'. We drank Champagne, laughed, drank more Champagne, rocked our socks off and drank a bit more Champagne. It was time to put our rockin' socks back on.
Now with an extremely calculated Hop, Skip and a Jump five minutes later and not forgetting that 2am Pizza (that has never tasted so good) in hand we arrive back at the Vibe and can I just say this was one of the best ideas yet as we didn't have to wrestle anyone on the ground for a Taxi to get home. If you have experienced the pleasure of catching a cab at this time of morning you would understand it is quite a challenge.
After a great sleep we awoke feeling only slightly sorry for ourselves and whilst trying to recall the evening we made a beeline to the buffet breakfast and I don't know about you but a good buffet breakfast is hard to come by, and fortunately for me I went back for seconds, thrids and fourths (is that even a word?).
With a few moments to spare before check-out we ascend to the roofttop pool where we take in the beautiful views of our Rushcutters Bay and with the sun shining down on our pasty winter skin I knew it was time to call a day or night - which ever comes first - or we were never going to leave this Vibe.
