The Friends of the Urrbrae Wetlands are holding an Open Day with guided tours to share their insights into the flora and fauna of this unique ecosystem.
Their work in caring for the wetland has created an extraordinary ambience about the wetland. They have turned a plant free, barren site into a wonderful indigenous, landscaped garden and seed bank as it might have been in 1836 prior to European settlement and land clearance.
The Wetlands are located on Cross Road at Netherby, and are prominently sign posted. They are normally only able to be visited by the general public by booking in advance, but on the Open Day between 2pm and 4pm you can visit and see this tranquil and natural environment.
