Local goods right on your doorstep
The next weekend that you're thinking of heading out towards Mt Dandenong and use Burwood Hwy, make sure you take a few minutes to stop off at this cute and quirky market.

Located in the car park of the Upper Ferntree Gully train station, this market runs every Saturday and Sunday. You won't do better for parking, and its also conveniently close to a pub, supermarket and several cafes.

Probably the most regular of stalls you'll find here are the produce and hot jam doughnut stalls. The produce stand is always quite large and will offer fruits, vegetables and all your general goodies (not unlike Queen Victoria Market on a very small scale).

Some of the stalls on offer

While the remaining stalls often rotate in and out, you'll only really find goods on offer that are from a local source. This can include everything from garden statues and ornaments, jewellery, soaps, nuts, compost/manure, even poffertjes!

This market has been running for years, and while not quite as busy in winter, you'll always find something cute, useful, or the perfect gift for family or friends.

Make sure you include time for the Upper Ferntree Gully market on your next trip to the hills!
