The has three pools: two for toddlers and juniors, and a 50m for lap swimming and recreation. It is very family-friendly and easy to use. All pools are heated between 26 and 28 degrees.

The facilities at Unley include change rooms with hot showers and lockers, a kiosk and cafe, and most impressively, disabled services. This enables people with poor mobility to be lowered into the pool. I found the change rooms to be clean and well-lit, with sufficient space and toilets to suffice when busy. The pool itself was very clear and clean, with the usual entry and exit ladders, and flat sides that are level with the water.

Surrounding the main pool are large sails that provide excellent shade over the grass. This is quite possibly one of the best shaded outdoor pools in Adelaide, and a big tick for the pool.

The only disappointing thing was the limited choice of hot foods at the Cafe. It was lunchtime and I was hungry for hot chips, but they don't do those. Chips have long been an Australian tradition by the pool and beach, so in my opinion this was a bit of a letdown. They do offer grilled croissants and focaccias, and a range of lollies and ice creams. Given the small scale of pool, I can understand why it would not be profitable to run the frying equipment.

The car park is fairly small, but the surrounding streets are wide and also available. However, most of the time this pool won't be used by enough people to fill the car park, and it seems to be fairly quiet during the week. In the surrounding park is a playground with benches and a barbeque.

Unley pool is ideal for family outings and individual swimmers seeking a quiet location with lots of space. I think it deserves more use from the surrounding community as it is a high quality facility with friendly staff.
