Fire and ice, big bangs, online movies, famous authors, Star Wars, Lego Movie, Daleks, awesome debate! The science and technology attractions are endless fitting into an action packed weekend at the Unley Library from Friday, October 31st to Sunday, November 2nd.



Unley Library is going to be the most exciting place to be in Adelaide this coming weekend with their annual festival. Blast off with a screening on Friday at 6pm of the Lego Movie. Be awesomated by your host MC Cosi , together with Tubby the Robot and characters from Star Wars. Bookings (call 8372-5100) are essential for the gold coin donation screening at Unley Town Hall. Earlier in the day will feature Techno Babytime at 10:30am & 11:30am.

Saturday promises a jam-packed day starting with world renowned author Phil Cummings leading Dads Read Storytime, so dads and grandfathers, bring along your 2-6 year olds. Bookings essential for this 10-10:45am session with Cummings, who was honoured with three of his publications being presented to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during their recent Australia tour. Prince George will love the work of this local SA writer.



Learn about RoboRoos , an Adelaide team of students who design, build, program and test a robot in six weeks to compete in a worldwide FIRST Robotics Competition. Check out what 3D printing can achieve. Meet the creators of viral online movie Wastelander Panda , as they share tips on how to successfully share your own movies online. Endless interactive fun. Make a claymation movie, hands on science and tech toys, and book in with a gold coin donation to SciWorld Spectacular Show, Fire & Ice! Take a break through the day to enjoy a BBQ with Sturt Football Club .



If all that isn't enough, come along Sunday to find out all there is to know about Daleks, Dr. Who fans! Make your own recycled can robot, or a solar car to race (bookings essential). Have you ever wondered how those breathtaking photographs of the night sky are achieved? Find out at the Unley Libraries Festival on Sunday, November 2nd. Enjoy the great debate! Discussing a question we have all discussed within our own circles. 'What Was Better? The Movie or the Book?' Book early for the 3:45pm debate at Unley Town Hall. Enjoy light hearted arguments from local comedian, Jason Chong , multi-talented, award winning SA author Ruth Starke , together with writer, media professional and funny girl Petra Starke , and literature, film and drama lecturer Dr. Nick Prescott .
