Where would I call in for a coffee and something to eat for breakfast? I was in Brisbane and had taken a family member to hospital early in the morning, so had missed my "normal" breakfast. Then I remembered
Uncle Bob's Bakery at Belmont. I'd been a regular there before I moved from the city, and I just knew it was the place to visit!
Uncle Bob's Bakery has a long history – starting in 1993, and now has expanded with shops at Redland Bay, Thornlands, and Victoria Point as well as its Belmont store. Many awards have been won over the years, and I knew that I could be guaranteed something special.
Baker Brett Noy, who has won many awards for his skills, was the son of a baker, so the family baking history goes back to 1958! Read about some of the many awards Brett Noy has won on their website. He's certainly a champion Australian baker.
What products do they create and sell? So many, it is impossible to list here! You'll have to go and check them out. Certainly, a wide range of breads, cakes, pastries, sou dough bread, and great Belaroma Expresso Coffee. The shop I visited was at the Belmont Shopping Centre, 185 Belmont Road, and I enjoyed a coffee and raisin toast. I found it so hard to make a decision from all the goodies on display!
There's great seating in front of the shop - a place to take a break and watch the world and other shoppers pass by.
