Feel the excitement, magic and mystery of ancient Egypt and learn about the Pharaoh Tutankhamun at a spectacular exhibition coming to Perth in September 2016. From 29th September 2016 until 15th January 2017 you will be amazed at the wonderful recreation of his tomb and treasures, including replica gold coffins, astonishing jewellery and stunning gilded statues.

This exhibition has toured the world and has been seen by over 6 million visitors! It is for children and adults alike and will keep everyone entertained with 1,000 objects, graphics, movies and an audio guide telling the complete story of the discovery of the tomb. The whole exhibition is presented in an educational, exciting and entertaining manner and will amaze you, awakening a previous dormant interest in Egyptology or start a new interest in this astonishing and mystical period of time in Egypt.

It is almost 100 years since the wonderful discovery of the first (and only to date) almost intact tomb in ancient Egypt. Howard Carter and his work team discovered a step leading to Tutankhamum's tomb in 1922. What happened after that made world news for many years.

Most tombs were found in ancient times by tomb robbers who stole everything, so this discovery was amazing and has enchanted the world every since. It took Carter and his team many years of excavating and then many years to catalogue the thousands of wonderful items, which are mostly housed in the Cairo Museum now.

King Tut died at just 18 years old. He was also known as the Boy King as he was only 9 years old when he became king. He is a household name due to the discovery of his almost intact tomb and the treasures it held, rather than his achievements as a Pharaoh, as his short reign accomplished little. There is mystery surrounding his death and who doesn't want to know about the Mummies Curse!
