"You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes". -Morpheus, Matrix

Well, this "rabbit hole" cafe I went to was indeed deep - 3 layers deep actually.

Without a car, it took about 45 minutes to an hour by public transport to get there. Arriving at the cafe's doorstep's doorstep (I'll explain later), I actually thought I've got the wrong place. Still, I decided to be a little thick skinned and enquired from the shop keeper. And here comes my pleasant surprise;

The doorstep's doorstep: New Market Hardware

There were hammers and screwdrivers and wires and more hammers and more screwdrivers and many other tools that I can't name.

Following the printed footprints on the ground;

The doorstep: Knickknacks Store

It wasn't the cafe YET, although there was a huge and obvious hint.

We entered a knick-knacks shop that sells random stuff such as boots, decorations, wallets, cups etc. It was like walking through a market selling second-hand items, those that only seem to occur in movies, and finding weird/random/unique cheap thrills there.

And finally, Cafe

Well, I guess it's the exterior sitting area that really took my breath away.

I'm totally in love with the view and serenity this cafe has to offer. It's like leaving the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan area and entering a dream-like, tranquil place that is magically hidden away from the humans of the city. Almost as if the "witches and wizards" of Brisbane casted a spell on this place, obscuring it from the eyes of "muggles".

The warm beverages were served in pretty, ornamented cups, totally in synced with the knick-knack shop.

However, in terms of the quality of coffee available, I'd say that it's a typical cup of Merlos coffee. Not that it's bad, but I've had better.

All in all, it was a very pleasing experience at . Although I'm not exactly impressed with the quality of the coffee, the ambience is enough to make me want to go back again.
