Looking for a great fun and social outing with a difference? Why not take a Fremantle Tram Tour?

Climb aboard a Fremantle Tram, at any of the six convenient stops, and see a different view of Fremantle with its bustling harbours, beautifully preserved architecture, convict built Old Fremantle Prison and the famed Cappuccino Strip and Markets.

The driver provides an entertaining and educational commentary and you quickly discover the authentic charm of Fremantle that makes it Western Australia's most visited City.

You can hop off at any of the stops along the route, take in the nearby attractions and rejoin the tour at any time during your day. Choose from the standard Hop-on-Hop-off day tour and travel at your own pace or try The Triple Tour, Tram & Prison Combo or Tram & Lunch Cruise. There is a package to suit everyone but be sure to check the brochure for full details and prices.

The Triple Tour is an all day event, where you get to see two cities in the one tour. Starting in Fremantle (at the town hall), the first leg of the tour is of Fremantle, where you visit the Arts Centre, the Fishing Boat Harbour, and my personal favourite, the old Fremantle Prison.

After that, you get to take a boat ride up the Swan River, passing the old Swan River Brewery, Kings Park and the Swan River Yacht Club, which are all beautiful sights. The final leg of this Triple Tour is a tour around Perth and King's Park in a double decker Sightseeing bus.

If you would rather a shorter trip, then maybe the Tran & Prison combo is more for you. Combining two great tourist attractions, this is a winner. After taking a tram tour of Fremantle, this tour will drop you off in front of the old Fremantle prison for one of two ghost tours, either 'Doing Time' or the 'Great Escape'. Both are fascinating insights as to how convicts were held during their time at the prison and both are spooky, entertaining family fun. When the tour is over, you can meet the Tram outside for the rest of the tour of Fremantle.

The Tram and Lunch Tour is another great way to spend an afternoon. First off, you get the Tram Tour of Fremantle, and after that, you get to have a lovely lunch aboard a boat, as you cruise up and down the Swan River, before returning to Fremantle.

Every Friday night, ghostly Tours are held. A torchlight tour of Fremantle's oldest and spookiest buildings, including the old Prison, the Roundhouse and even the old Asylum. The tram is converted into dining car style because included in the evening is a Cicerello's fish and chip supper served at your table.

There are other stops and surprises along the way and the driver entertains you with the historic background of the buildings and tales of some of Fremantle's earliest residents, maybe one will put in a ghostly appearance. At each stop there is a torchlight walking tour of the grounds. This is a wonderful and fun tour, for the whole family or for a party or special event.

So for a great afternoon or a spooky evening, take a Fremantle Tram Tour- it's different, educational and fun.

Times and prices vary depending of the tour. Bookings are essential.
