Young and coffee in varying degrees, Kat also says stuff @ThoroughlyMode

The Trafalgar Tavern is one of those pubs that wears its age well – for although it was built in 1837, it's young for Greenwich and is kept in excellent nick. It has the dark wood beams and features, and lux use of colour that buildings in this age group have and still has many of its original features, which have been augmented by prints and paintings largely depicting historic Greenwich.

But it's never all about the surrounds when it comes to pubs. The Trafalgar was famous in 'its day' for its whitebait suppers, which attracted the likes of Dickens, William Thackery and Wilkie Collins to this neck of the river, and while these days it doesn't have quite the same reputation for great food, its restaurant is quite decent and its pub grub above par. What's really great about this pub is its location: its literally on the river, and in the summer it's great to sit outside of an evening with a pint or a Pimms in hand and shoot the breeze,

Open from midday and serving food until an hour before closing.
