Dining Room

The Town Hall Hotel is a great place to go on a cold winter's night. The dining room interior, with it's red painted brick walls, is warm and inviting. The service was excellent and the food was very good value.
It is the only eating establishment I have been to where the menu is set out in small, medium and large size servings. So if you are small like me at 155cm, or big like my 193cm nephew, there's a portion size that's just right for you. Why don't more places do this, it's a great idea?
Our mains were yummy, but it was the desserts that really stood out. At an average price of $15 you really get something special. We enjoyed tiramisu - sponge soaked in strega, Kahlua and coffee with mascarpone, hot chocolate and citrus pie with clotted cream and pavlova roulade, mixed berry salad, amaretto, raspberry sorbet. My nephew doesn't have a sweet tooth, so he had a cheese platter. He had requested no soft cheeses but some ended up on his platter by mistake. No problems, he was given another platter at no extra cost and the rest of us enjoyed the first platter. They also accidentally gave us 2 pavlova roulades, so we got to keep the second too! Doesn't get much better than that.
