Top Things to do Alone in Melbourne

You've all experienced it; you're pumped for the weekend, but your boyfriend is out with mates and your friends are busy with kids/boyfriend/work/intense waxing. Sure, you love a relaxing day to yourself. But there's only so many hours of shameful TV to watch and those cookies you baked are going strait to your thighs. So here's some things you will
actually love doing.
Shopping:
You think you need a sidekick to defeat the evil unflattering choices. Truth is you'll get more of what you really want without that questionable wisdom in your ear (you will
never buy that hot pink dress anyway). Be efficient, and cross off that To Buy list with all the things too boring to warrant a shopping trip (comfortable underwear?). Even better, why not check out somewhere your friends would never dare go?
Dandenong Ranges for some quirky stand outs, Fitzroy and Acland street for affordable boutique,
Camberwell Market for unexpected finds or Hampton street for great Op Shops.
Hiking:
Try enjoying the tranquil solitude of a hike, without the burden of conversation or trying to keep up (or slow down!).
This website has a good list of walks and hikes all over Melbourne. But remember to tell someone where you're going!
Bike Ride:
Have fun, explore, get fit at the same time? Brag about this one to your erstwhile friends.
Scotchman's Creek Trail and
Capital City Trail are great ones.
Do a Class:
Try something new without the pressure of a friend watching over your shoulder (or forcing you to continue!). Try
dancing ,
Life Drawing or
classes[/LINK .
Library:
Unusual but fun. Make a list of books you want to test out, head to the library with a packed lunch and spend all day finding new authors or being engrossed in a new book! Remember to SHH!
The lesson: you don't need those losers to have fun!
