Winter is here and for those of us with children that can mean being stuck inside searching for yet another fun activity to keep the little ones entertained.
Well, here is something you may not have considered. The new shopping centre in Ryde, Top Ryde City (Corner Devlin Street and Blaxland Road, Ryde). Top Ryde City - Shopping Centre is not just a great place to shop, it is also an escape from the lunacy of kids with cabin fever.
On Level 1 you will find a child friendly oasis. A fully fenced play area for ages 3-12 years which has been cleverly surrounded by an array of kiddy shops for Mum to peruse (must mention the soon to open Mothercraft). It is all within view of the children, pretty much every store has a bird eye view of the play area, and then to top it all off right smack bang in the middle, is a coffee shop, Choo Coffee.They do not have EFTPOS - so bring your small change, but they do have great coffee and some very cute baby chinos.
Now for those of you with little ones like mine, don't despair, there is a small soft play area just around the corner; it is not flash but there are always a few cute toddlers or crawlers to mingle with and plenty of room to burn energy.
So, if are sitting at home with the roar of bored children in your ears then pack them up, grab some change for a coffee, and get your self down to Top Ryde for a relaxing couple of hours with a bunch of like minded Mums.
P.S. There are always some great school holiday activities going on - at the moment, there is a Shrek show, LEGO competition, plaster fun house and heaps more.
