The Rockerfeller Center Observation deck, also known as Top of the Rock, is a multi-level deck encompassing approximately 55,000 square-feet. This amazing space is set within the 67th, 69th and 70th floors of Rockerfeller Plaza. From the upper deck, which spans approximately 850 feet above street level, one can view the city's breathtaking skylines and landmarks. The views include the prominent Chrysler Building, Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State Building, Hudson River, East River and Central Park. 360 degree views at its best.
The Top of the Rock has indoor and outdoor viewing areas and is open seven days a week, 365 days a year, regardless of weather conditions. But it is NYC and there will be inclement weather at times. If the weather is inclement, portions of the observation desk may be closed and guests are advised about the weather conditions prior to entry.
Unfortunately, the Top of the Rock does not have a restaurant or bar but there are many dining options on the concourse level of Rockerfeller Plaza and in the surrounding area.
The Top of the Rock has a timed ticketing system. This allows visitors to select the time and date of their trip and purchase online tickets in advance. The perk to purchasing tickets online is during your ticketed time slot, you get to skip the box office line and head straight up. Ticket prices are approximately $21 for adults, $19 for seniors (62 ) and $14 for children (6-12).
Bring the family and make a day of it. Strollers are allowed and children under 6 years old are free with a paying parent or guardian. Don't forget, the main entrance is on 50th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues and bring your camera.
