If you were a little envious of hearing about everyone's fantastic stories from the Labor day long weekend that's just past, then it's time to look ahead to the Easter long weekend and plan ahead because as you will see from the list there's lots on.



On the Mornington Peninsula:

Red Hill Market on Saturday 4th is an iconic market with 300 stalls selling a wide range of items from kids clothes, hot food, craft, plants, cakes and more. On site parking costs $5. For more info click here .

Clip Clop Club Easter Sunday Race Day @ Mornington Race course on Easter Sunday is a great family day out on a budget ( as long as you can resist backing the horses). Entry costs $12 for adults, kids are free and can enjoy plenty of free entertainment with rides and activities. Take a picnic a long and invite some friends for a relaxed day out. Flinders Market on Easter Sunday is a small community market only held twice a year at the Flinders cricket club. Stall numbers vary each market but include craft, antiques, trash and treasure, home made items, hot food, cakes and more. Parking costs a few dollars and goes to Flinders CFA. In the Dandenongs and Yarra Valley:

Easter Collectable Fair - Ferny Creek is held over Sat & Sun at the Ferny Creek recreation reserve hall from 9am on Sat and 10am Sun. Find out more here .

Yarra Glen Market is on Easter Sunday and is similar to the Red Hill market but just in a different (stunning) location at the Yarra Glen Racecourse. With around 300 stalls you're sure to find something interesting to take home. If you are taking kids make sure you pack a picnic and head to McKenzie Reserve , it's lovely. In and around town:

Good Friday Appeal Easter Egg Hunt at Werribee Park is not only for a great cause with the funds going to the Royal Children's Hospital but it's a fun event that keeps families coming back year after year. Unfortunately tickets have already sold out for this year but you may want to keep it in mind for next year.

Giant Easter Egg Hunt - Life Ministry Church @ Chirnside Park is now selling tickets for their annual giant Easter egg hunt which is limited to 1,000 participants. Tickets are $10 for children and includes a bucket load of Easter eggs, two free turns on the giant slide or climbing wall and free face painting. To book tickets click here .

With the opening round of the AFL in full swing you will find 5 games on from Thursday 2nd with a night game at the MCG, Carlton vs Richmond to Hawks vs Geelong on Monday 6th. To see what teams will playing over the Easter weekend click here .

National Trust Easter Fun Day @ Ripponlea will be held on Easter Sunday from 10am - 4pm. Activities include an egg hunt, old fashioned games, a walk through the mansion and stroll or picnic in the gardens. Tickets are $45 for a family of 4 or free for National Trust members. Historic homestead and garden Duneira @ Mount Macedon owners are hosting an Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday between 10am - 12pm. Visitors are welcome to stay up until 4pm to picnic and enjoy the gardens, entry is $10 per adult and children are free. No bookings are taken. To visit the website click here .



Regional Victoria:

Bendigo Easter Antique Fair will be held over two days on the 4th & 5th. The event is said to be Australia's second largest country antique fair with 33 antique dealers selling porcelain, antique furniture, military, jewelry, bronzes, and more. For more info click here .

Stawell Gift, the oldest foot race in Australia could be just the excuse needed to escape the city. The event runs from Friday 3rd- Monday 6th with fashions on the field held on Saturday and children's day on Sunday. For more info click here .

Falls Creek Easter Festival is another great excuse for a weekend away in the High Country. The festival incorporates an Easter fete, giant Easter egg hunt, egg-straordinary egg toss, big Easter breakfast, kids club and Ecumenical service. To find out more click here .

Beechworth Bakery and Beechworth Honey 'Golden Horseshoe Festival' looks like a lot of fun and is renowned for being the biggest annual festival in Beechworth.The festival runs from Good Friday - Easter Sunday and includes a grand parade, Easter egg hunt, food court, live music, markets, night market, kids corner and more. Beechworth fun run on Easter Sunday kicks off at 9am with a 10km run or 3km family option. Registration is open on the morning of the event but if you want to save a few dollars you can register online here .



Open Gardens - Back Lake, Scotsburn ( near Ballarat) $10 entry, under 18 free. Both gardens are open on Sat 4th and Easter Sunday.

Bellerine Railway Easter Bunny Special departs Queenscliff at 11am on Easter Sunday and returns at 1pm. Children make their own egg cup ready for the Easter egg hunt at Drysdale. Bookings are essential. A family ticket for 2 adults and 3 children costs $85. To book or to find out more click here .

Sheepwash Classic Fun Run - Barwon Primary School is on Sat 4th and offers a 4km walk and 8km run. Start time is 9am and registrations can be made here .
