One of New York's smallest but trendiest neighborhoods is Tribeca. Tribeca is short for Triangle Beneath Canal. Some of New York's biggest celebrities live and play here. It is one of the most expensive areas of the country.

Eat at Tribeca Grill .

One of the places that is a must do while in New York is Tribeca Grill. This restaurant is co-owned by actor Robert De Niro and is located on the first two floors of the Tribeca Film Center. The restaurant was instrumental in the reviving of the Tribeca area when it opened in 1990. There is always a crowd so reservations must be made far in advance.

Visit One of The Many Manhattan%2C NY Tribeca Art Galleries .

Tribeca is also becoming known as one of New York's best art district. This area has many antique shops, art galleries and photo galleries. The shops and galleries are small but that only adds to the appeal of the area. The prices of the art work and antiques are in the moderate to expensive range. Reade, Duane, and N. Moore Streets are where most galleries and shops are located.

Walk the Streets, Marvel at the Architecture, and Watch for Celebrities.

Another thing to do in Tribeca is simply to walk the streets. This is an area that is lined with stately homes elaborately decorated with iron and stone. Many celebrities have homes in this neighborhood; even those who are based elsewhere own property here as it is very stately and trendy. Harrison Street contains a group of three story red brick homes that were moved from various other locations in the neighborhood in the 1970s making this an interesting street to visit.

Visit Rockefeller Park .

When you are in need of a break, visit Rockefeller Park which is located on the Hudson River in Tribeca. In this park you will find a very large grassy are for lounging, an area for biking, running and walking. A peaceful corner of this park contains a sculpture garden with sculptures by New York artists. There is also a game center where you can borrow toys and games such as basketballs, soccer balls and even older games and toys from the 1960s and 70s.

Go to the Open Air Market in Tribeca .

On Saturdays during the spring, summer and fall a section of Greenwich Street in Tribeca becomes an open-air market. Vendors from New York and New Jersey sell fresh vegetables, fruits, baked goods and flowers.
