Do you remember when, if you wanted some lollies , you could just go down to your local sweet shop? Stepping into the magical store, seeing shelves with jars and jars full of tasty treats, you would be able to choose your favourite lollies, and as the assistant put them into a paper bag, your mouth would be watering. The traditional old fashioned lolly shops of yesteryear have all but disappeared but there are still a few left.

[SECTION]The British Lolly Shop.[/SECTION]

British Lolly Shop is in Hillarys and looks like an old fashioned local sweet shop. They have over 400 different types of British sweets, displayed in jars, as well as many other confectionery and chocolate products.

The British Lolly Shop has stores all over Australia or you can buy on-line.

[SECTION]Ye Olde Lolly Shoppe.[/SECTION]

Ye Olde Lolly Shoppe in the Carillon Centre, Perth, is like a turn of the century lolly shop, selling loads of different types of sweets. Choose from humbugs, boiled sweets, fudges, toffees, chocolates, candies and many more.

Ye Olde Lolly Shoppe also has stores in Margaret River, Rockingham, Joondalup and Toodyay.

[SECTION]Little Lolly Shop.[/SECTION]

The Little Lolly Shop in Perth is a fairly new sweet shop in the CBD. They have a wide range of traditional lollies and chocolates from around the world. All made with natural ingredients and their lollies contain no artificial colours or flavours.

[SECTION]Lolly WA.[/SECTION]

Lolly WA has its own factory and shop in Fremantle. Master confectioners use all natural ingredients to produce a wide range of handmade sweets in over 30 flavours. Watch as the sweets are made in the factory and try the different delicious flavours.

Lolly WA can personalise rock candy to your own design for weddings, birthdays and an assortment of other special occasions.

[SECTION]Best of British.[/SECTION]

Best of British Shop in Floreat Forum, was established in 2005 and stocks British food, confectionery and gifts.

The Best of British is a great shop where you can get those hard to find English food items but best of all they have a huge range of British sweets and chocolates.

[SECTION]More Sweet Shops.[/SECTION]

There are more sweet shops around than you might think. The Candy Cow in Fremantle, Fudge Connection in Hilton, UK Shop & Lolly World in Willetton, Liquorice Gourmet in Claremont or Roc Candy in Perth to name just a few. Watching the whole production process which you can do in some lolly stores, is quite interesting.

If you have a sweet tooth these old fashioned sweet shops are great to visit. You might re-discover some old favourites or find some new ones, but be warned you might end up spending more than you had intended.
