Australia Day is on
Thursday, 26 January 2012 and there are a number of events occurring in and around the city of Perth to commemorate this special day; so we thought we would do the hard work for you and select five of the very best events to head to.
So, let's get straight to it;
[SECTION]Australia Day Bush Breakfast[/SECTION]
This great family event is being held to honour those who have been nominated for various Citizenship Awards by the Shire of Dalwallinu council members.
This event will be held at Dalwallinu Memorial Park from 8am, there will be a special bush breakfast supplied by the Shire of Dalwallinu.

[SECTION]Free Australia Day Breakfast[/SECTION]
This is another breakfast event to kick of Australia Day celebrations in Perth. This event will be held in Memorial Park, commencing at 11.30am. The Shire of Brookton are providing a free cooked breakfast, which will be followed by Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony.
It is recommenced that you bring along your own plates and cutlery.

[SECTION]Merredin Australia Day Beach Party[/SECTION]
With a good breakfast sorted, head down to the Merredin Australia Day Beach Party, which will be held at the Merredin Regional Community and Leisure Centre. This events kicks off at 4pm and will include award presentations of the Merredin Citizen and Young Citizen of the year and a free BBQ dinner.
Throughout the afternoon there will be beach paddling areas, beach games and slippery slides for the whole family to enjoy.
There will also be a free outdoor screening of Red Dog at sundown.

[SECTION]Celebration Zone South Perth [/SECTION]
This is another great afternoon event which will be held at Sir James Mitchell Park. It is expected that there will be some 70 fun family activities under the Big Top, including Zorb Balls, Belly Bumpers, Crazy Bikes, Water Slide, Mini Golf, Pedalos and much, much more.

[SECTION]Australia Day At The Bakery[/SECTION]
Music lovers should head to The Bakery for their Australia Day celebrations. There will be a fabulous line up of local bands and artists and a free BBQ.
This event is headlined by Apricot Rail and will feature Cow Parade Cow, Diger Rokwell, Rabbit Island Band, MmHmMm, James Ireland, Nik Ridikulas and Andrew Sinclair.
