If you've already spent quite a bit on your beloved but still want to do something special together then here is a list of a few fun things you can do without having to spend a fortune this Valentine's Day.

Try ice-skating: Spend the night holding hands as you glide across the ice and listen to love songs. Better yet, take the chance to surprise your partner with a love song dedication. And if you've never skated before you'll be happy to know there will be free skating lessons starting at 7pm.

Bath under the stars: Share a romantic evening amidst the gentle trees and warmly-lit surrounds in the natural mineral baths of the Peninsula Hot Springs for only $25. Together, try the different baths and in particular, the bath that sits atop of Peninsula Springs with a beautiful 360 degree view to make for a very romantic evening.

Three is not a crowd with Max Brenner: Indulge in a heavenly, decadent array of milk, white and dark chocolate dishes, from chocolate souffle to chocolate fondue and toffee apple crepes and crunchy Belgian waffles at Max Brenner. This restaurant/cafe is all things chocolate with several stores located in the city and outer suburbs. Nothing could be more romantic (or delicious!).

Share a laugh: A good night is practically guaranteed at the Comic's Lounge with a line-up of emerging, young, stand-up comedians, all for only $10. The Lounge also offers a few select tasty dinner dishes for $15 from 7pm.

Romantic night in: Sometimes there is really nothing better than a romantic night in. Cook dinner together, light a few scented candles, play some of your favourite songs and dance outside in the dark. And there's always the classic of renting your favourite movies; being Tuesday most video rentals have cheap rental rates.

And no matter what you choose, just remember to let your partner know you love them.
