Feeling a bit bored? Want to take up something new and different in 2012? Well here's some ideas you might want to mull over.

1. Pooktre Art

Take one ordinary little tree and turn it into a work of art. You will need patience for this but the end results are amazing.

The couple responsible for this particular piece of art and many more are Peter Cook and Becky Northey of Queensland.

2. Taphophilia

Do you know what a taphophile is? It is someone who has an avid interest in cemeteries. You would be keen on researching, writing and reading epitaphs, making gravestone rubbings, cemetery photography and reading up on cemetery history. Maybe not as weird as it sounds either. I've been on holidays where I've stumbled across old cemeteries and they are kind of interesting.

3.Pigeon Racing

According to the Pigeons Australia website "Their sport is dying, but their love for their birds is strong". The sport of pigeon racing has been declining with pigeon club members gradually dying off as fewer younger people take up the sport. The high cost of feeds and fuel have also contributed to the decline. So come on people, this could be your new hobby.

I also like to visit cemeteries when I'm on holidays. I think it's an interesting way to get a different side of the towns history.
