Dining at Tommy's Beer Café was almost like stepping into a rustic bar in Eastern Europe. With wooden décor and perfectly dressed staff, it makes a delightful place to dine.

The first course was Potato Pancakes ($9.10) served with a delicious horseradish and sour cream dip. Fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside I found myself wanting more and more of them.

For mains, we had the Mixed Platter ($28.90) and the Hunter Schnitzel ($19.90). The Mixed Platter gives you a taste of three different meals. Pork belly on sauerkraut, veal schnitzel on creamy mash and roasted duck on braised red cabbage. The highlight of this trio is the incredible pork belly. I have a soft spot for a good crackling and this was just perfect. The sauerkraut was so authentic it teleported me back to Germany.

The Hunter Schnitzel is crumbed tender chicken breast served on the creamiest mash potato with mushroom sauce that could make any steakhouse jealous.

Our meals were accompanied by two fine beers- Pilsner Urquell, the first pilsner in the world and the original Budweiser.

The overall experience was fun, and lively. The food was tasty and the staff friendly. Tommy's Beer Café is a great place to go for dinner with friends or even with the family.
