Disney's new movie Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy is right on the mark when it comes to taking kids on an exciting and unforgettable adventure. You can't go wrong with a plot that involves pirates and fairies ... oh and let's not forget an adorable baby CROC.

The movie is the prequel to Peter Pan , and goes back in time to the early days of Captain Hook.

The story ventures into pirate territory, focussing on Zarina a misunderstood dust-keeper fairy, who's smart, ambitious, inquisitive, curious and extremely talented. Let's say she's a budding alchemist. Zarina and Tinker Bell are best friends - they both think 'outside the box'.

Introducing James into the story, this charming pirate has a few tricks up his sleeve. He looks familiar, and we get to see glimpses of who he's destined to become. He's an ambitious leader which makes sense. His last name, you guessed it - Hook.

The movie is set in Pixie Hollow a hopeful happy place where fairies generate pixie dust that powers their flight, people and objects alike. Zarina is captivated by the dust and its endless possibilities, but when her wild ideas get her into trouble she flees in an effort to find her spot in the world.

Zarina joins forces with the scheming pirates of Skull Rock who make her captain of their ship - though not without typical pirate motivations. She's so dazzled by the respect they pay her and the value they place on her knowledge and skills, she agrees to return the favour with the greatest gift of all - Blue Pixie Dust. She hatches a plan to swipe the dust and share it with her new allies.

Tinker Bell and her friends spring into action by embarking on an epic adventure to find Zarina transformed into a pirate with a new wild hairdo and thigh high boots. They're also shocked when they hear the pirates address her as 'captain'.

Tinker Bell and her besties, Rosetta, Silvermist, Vidia, Fawn, and Iridessa aim to bring Zarina and the precious dust she stole from Pixie Hollow to their rightful home.

However, in their midst of their pursuit of Zarina, they find themselves trading talents in a twist of fate intended to halt their mission. But as troupers, together they go sword-to-sword with the band of pirates led by a cabin boy named James, who'll soon be known as Captain Hook himself. There's one major problem they encounter - one side happens to be only a few inches tall.

Watch Tinkerbell and her besties get into all sorts of tight spots after Zarina magically switches their fairy abilities and talents. Tinker Bell becomes a water fairy, Silvermist a fast-flying fairy, Fawn a light fairy, Iridessa a garden fairy, Rosetta an animal fairy, and Vidia a tinker fairy - much to her horror and disgust.

They struggle with their swapped talents as they search for Zarina and the pirate ship, in the process meeting a baby crocodile which takes a liking to Rosetta. CROC has one mission - to love and protect mama Rosetta, who's the first fairy he spots when he breaks out of his egg.

What keeps the movie exciting throughout is the tribute to female friendship and girl power - it's the ultimate kick. Each fairy with their unique personality and talent will captivate kids, who in turn will connect and maybe see some of their uniqueness in themselves. I can see these fairy Disney dolls being on their wish list too!

Here's a little bit more about each Disney fairy, you can't help but adore them all.

Zarina a smart and ambitious dust-keeper fairy who's captivated by Blue Pixie Dust and all of its possibilities. But when her wild ideas get her into trouble, she flees Pixie Hollow and teams up with a band of scheming pirates.

Tinker Bell a sweet, sassy and extremely loyal tinker fairy who's always first on the scene to fix a problem. In the movie Tink is transformed (temporarily) to a water fairy, and must learn to work with the wet stuff if they hope to save Zarina.

Rosetta a true artist and garden fairy who loves bringing beauty into the world, finds herself in uncharted territory, as an animal fairy with an adorable baby croc on her tail.

Silvermist has a go-with-the-flow personality, which makes sense for a water fairy who can charm even the most stubborn dew drop. In the movie, she picks up the pace as a fast flying fairy.

Vidia normally the fastest of the fast-flying fairies, finds herself stepping into Tinker Bell's shoes, literally, as a tinker fairy.

Fawn a tomboy and animal fairy, makes friends with any creature she meets. In the movie she's illuminated as a light fairy. Fawn is renowned for being energetic, bold and a bit of a tomboy. She can speak to all animals big and small.

Iridessa a light fairy who always looks on the bright side of things. She likes order and following the rules. She's taken off guard when she's transformed into a garden fairy.

Along with lots of laughter, this movie has heart, magic and thrills.
